As she explained, every one of the people she showed represents a story to be told. The filmmaker would like to expand this into a feature length documentary. TYFYS and four other Messina Captor shorts are screening on Sofy TV (Largo Films, Universal Studios) and Shorts International Network, the Oscar Channel on Direct TV. The film also won Best Narrative Feature for the Hall of Fame, Women’s History Month. The largest and most prestigious International short film festival globally. “Thank You For Your Service” was an official selection in the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and Market 2018. The film explores youth education stopping sexual and domestic violence. Most recently Captor’s film “Peace Over Violence” was selected to screen on KCET/PBS. The Salon is based on the film "A Couple of White Chicks at the Hairdresser." The series attracted Executive Producers Kelsey Grammer and Tom Russo. The series stars: Harry Shearer, Sam Rubin, Kate Linder and introduces Mason Grammer. Looking at digital series, Messina Captor wrote, directed and produced "The Salon" for this growing platform. Under Captor's direction, Hal Linden becomes a present day Spencer Tracy.” LA Times critic Laurie Winer has called a directing protégé of Francis Ford Coppola, Messina Captor "a director who makes strong choices, while coaxing forth the play's gentle humor. Roxanne Messina Captor is one of Hollywood's most versatile and exciting director/writer/producer.
